Cash that collects itself

The crew marks the job done, the card on file gets charged, and the receipt texts itself. No envelopes, no “check’s in the mail,” no Friday night invoicing.

Why it works

Every unpaid invoice is work you already did, financed by you for free. OpenGate charges the card on file the moment the job is marked done — so the money follows the mower, not the month.

Auto-charge invoicing

Marked done means paid

Every customer saves a card at checkout. When your crew taps done on the job, OpenGate charges it, logs it, and texts the receipt — before the truck is out of the driveway.

  • Card saved once at checkout, charged every visit after
  • Recurring plans bill per visit or monthly — your call
  • Receipts send themselves, with the job photo attached

Payments

Cards, ACH, deposits, and tips

Take whatever the customer wants to pay with, at one flat rate you can actually predict. Deposits for big jobs, tips for good crews, and payouts on the schedule you pick.

  • One flat processing rate — no monthly fees or gateway add-ons
  • ACH at a lower rate for commercial and HOA invoices
  • Payouts daily or batched weekly, straight to your bank

Failed-payment recovery

Declines that fix themselves

Cards expire and banks flag charges — that’s not a reason to drive across town. OpenGate retries at smart times, nudges by text and email, and pauses service by your rules if nothing clears.

  • Smart retries timed for when cards actually clear
  • Reminder texts and emails with a one-tap card update link
  • Pause-service rules you set — never mow week four for free

Reports

Month-end, already done

Revenue, receivables, and autopay adoption sit on one screen — reconciled as jobs complete, not rebuilt in a spreadsheet on the 31st.

Revenue this month $48,290 +12% vs last month
Receivables aging $1,460 11-day average age
Autopay adoption 86% +9 points since spring
Of active customers charge automatically after every visit.

I used to block out the first three evenings of every month to chase checks. Last month I didn’t send a single reminder — it charged, retried, and collected while we were out on routes.

The playbook

Two moves to zero receivables

Turn on autopay defaults

Make card-on-file the default at checkout and convert legacy customers with one campaign. Most crews cross 80% autopay in their first month on OpenGate.

01

Watch A/R go to zero

With autopay in front and recovery behind it, receivables stop being a report you dread. Operators cut average invoice age from weeks to days.

Got a question?

What are the processing rates?

One flat rate per card transaction and a lower flat rate for ACH, posted on the pricing page and the same on every plan. No monthly minimums, no gateway fees, no statement surprises. Processing is built in — there’s no separate merchant account to apply for.

When do I get paid?

On the payout schedule you choose: daily as jobs complete, or a weekly batch if you’d rather reconcile once. Funds typically land in your bank within two business days of the charge, and every payout lists the exact jobs inside it.

Do my customers need an app?

No. Checkout, receipts, and card updates all happen in the browser from a text or email link. Customers save a card once at checkout and never think about it again — and when a card expires, the update link is one tap.

Should I take ACH or cards?

Both. Cards are the default for residential recurring plans because they clear instantly and retry cleanly. ACH costs less and fits large commercial and HOA invoices where a few days of settlement doesn’t matter. You choose which methods each service accepts.
